Over time, sagging breasts can occur due to aging, pregnancy, breastfeeding, excessive weight loss, or genetic factors. Breast lift surgery (mastopexy) is a surgical procedure that aims to give breasts a younger, firmer, and more aesthetically pleasing shape by tightening sagging breast tissue.

During this procedure, excess skin is removed, breast tissue is reshaped, and the nipple is repositioned if necessary. In some cases, the area around the nipple (areola) is also reduced to achieve a symmetrical and balanced appearance. The surgery can be performed solely for lifting purposes, or it can be combined with breast augmentation if there is also volume loss, depending on the patient's needs.

The procedure, performed under general anesthesia, takes an average of 2 to 4 hours. Mild pain, swelling, and bruising may occur in the first few days after the operation. Patients are generally advised to wear a special medical bra for a few weeks and avoid strenuous physical activity. While the healing process varies from person to person, it may take several months for the full results to be seen.
